Teaching is Not My Own

Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.
[John 7:16]

Teaching is a profession which has to be learned, probably the best place we select to study the best we learn. Now a days there are many different techniques and approaches to make teaching more effective and yet interesting. The way a person teaches can be taken the base of where he would have learned what he is teaching.

There are many who world not have gone to any particular institute but can be the best teachers. This is one kind of blessing or skill that they have received from God. They learn each and every day from their life and experience and this come back on what they teach. When we listen to good teaching wither spiritual or professional, and if touches our heart in some way, we tend to ask the same question which was asked by the Jews when Jesus was teaching in the temple court.

Question: The Jews were amazed and asked, "How did this man get such learning without having studied?” John 7:15
Answer: Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from him who sent me.

How many of the teachers now can say this ind of answer to the individual or group asking the question. We at times tend to forget who had send us or who have taught us and given us the base for what we are now. Above all other we should have the burden to remember and proclaim the Lord God who had send us to this world.

What we teach, which could be verbally or though our actions has to be something that should reflect our Lord. Our prayer should be that "Lord let people around me see you instead of me as an individual".

Jesus always made sure to glorify his father when ever a similar question was asked. He never took credit for that to himself. We are the actual opposite of this. We highlight ourselves, our effort, and the pain and suffering we faced to get to this place. Everything automatically goes out of picture.

Those whose had been part of what we are now has to be always remember and highlighted when ever possible. This was what Jesus did and this is what is expected of us. Above all, highlight Lord in us. We will get immense opportunity to do that and we have to pray that we don't miss any such moment and instead get his name glorified in all that happens.

Praise the Lord...
